To those who have family and friends around you this Christmas I pray that you will become closer, the ties that bind you will become stronger and that your days would be full of joy.
To those who will not have family and friends to spend Christmas with I pray also that you would be full of joy, because the father of the fatherless is there waiting to spend time with you.
To those who have plenty I pray that your heart would be one of sharing and care for humanity both for those around you and far away, and that this is followed by action as well as goodwill.
To those who have little I pray that you will be given more than you could hope for, and that your plate will be full and your mind rest easy.
To those who are happy and content I pray that you will remain so and that God will show himself to you through your circumstances.
To those who are suffering in body, mind or spirit I pray that God will show himself to you despite your circumstances and that you will become healthy and whole.
To everybody (myself included) I would like to say this:
Do justice.
Love mercy.
Walk humbly with your God.
Worship.
Share the message of peace and hope.
And I pray that your Christmas season is full of the awe and blessing and hope that should accompany the appearance of our Saviour in our world.
