It gets worse.

The small town of Marysville an hour and a half East of here is gone.  There are three houses still standing solitary reminders of what was once a beautiful tourist town.
Kinglake, another town a similar distance away is also gone, swallowed up by fireballs.
Whole chunks of Whittlesea and even parts of the city of Bendigo [...]
